As part of the UCDMC Auto Washing / Decontamination System project, Maloney and Bell removed and replaced two existing washer / sterilizer units, an existing cartwash unit, cabinets, sinks, worktables and flooring located in the UCDMC Decontamination Room.
The new sterilizer units, shown above, separate the “dirty” side (here) from the “clean” side of the room, and are used in the process of sanitizing used medical tools and equipment. The old units were completely removed, the existing tile flooring with asbestos mastic was abated and removed. New seamless, skid-resistant epoxy coating was applied to the entire floor, and new washer / sterilizer units were installed. All new connections were made for electrical, plumbing, steam, and air/exhaust as required.
