The University of California, Davis, Medical Center had 3 existing rooms converted to a new information technology data center – one that serves as an emergency backup to the existing University computer center. The new data center required an entirely independent electrical source and an uninterruptible power system (UPS) for backup power.
A new and extensive air conditioning system needed to be installed to counteract the heat generated by the computer systems. As the job progressed, more computers than originally planned, were installed, requiring even more air conditioning to make up for the additional heat generation.
